| Paddy Fitzpatrick: Head Coach
Paddy got a major break in 1997 when fi rst meeting Hall Of Fame trainer Freddie Roach in Jersey (Channel Islands). Roach was training Irishman Steve Collins at the time and Paddy made an immediate impression on the legendary trainer. Paddy was invited back to America to work with Roach at his illustrious Wild Card Gym, and it was the start of a US residency, which saw Paddy learn from some of the world’s best.
Keen to make a go of things Stateside, Paddy spent most of his time in America divided between Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Atlanta and Florida, working in all the best gyms available. Whether it be training, conditioning or providing nutritional advice, Paddy quickly created a reputation within the boxing industry as a man you want on your side.
Over the years Paddy has trained the likes of Laila Ali, Justin Juuko, Kid Diamond, William Guthrie, Michael Grant, Virgil Hill and Lucia Rijker. He has shared many stints working alongside trainers such as Freddie Roach and James ‘Buddy’ McGirt, and has seen and experienced most that goes on inside and outside the boxing ring.
Now back in Britain, Paddy remains one of the most sought-after and astute trainers in the world boxing and currently trains and manages former Commonwealth Gold Medalist Jamie Cox from the Boxing Academy gym in Swindon. |

| Darren Woodwards: Amateur Squad Coach
Darren is a major part of the Boxing Academy, as he is the man responsible for the Academy’s amateur squad. After boxing as a youth, Darren now heads up the amatuer programe. He is responsible for preparing the amateurs for their fights and also works with paddy to bring through new talent in the pro's. |
| Phil Marchetti: Coach
Phil works closely with the Boxing Academy and is a ‘Premier Global’, qualified in - gym instructor, nutritional advice and personal training. Phil also provides sports massage and rehabilitation to his fighters at the Academy.
|
| Gary Turland: Sports Therapist
Having come from a boxing family and boxing at a local club level, Gary has a keen interest in all aspects of the sport. Gary has studied at New College gaining a AVCE in Leisure and Recreation, then moved on to the University Of Bath and gained a degree in Sports Science and Sports Therapy.
Since qualifying in 2007 Gary has worked within the Great Western Hospital Physio Department in Swindon, working with a range of injuries as well as disabilities, having worked one-to-one as well as rehab classes. Gary has been the Sports therapist on the professional "JAMEGA" golf tour, worked with several football clubs both professional and semi-professional, as well as working with the general public with a range of treatments, from general health massage to rehabilitation.
Gary has been part of Jamie Cox's "Team Cox" since he turned professional, doing all Cox’s physio treatments. Gary is an important member of Team Cox, and the Boxing Academy. |
| Carl C.K Maisey: Assistant Amateur Squad Coach
C.K. has been part of the boxing academy for nearly 2 years now and has proven himself both as a boxer and as a coach. six months ago now he became fulltime assistant coach to Darren Woodwards, and the amatuer squad. he's already proved himself worthy of his role helping Garvey Kelly to hold it together in his amatuer debut when his nerves were getting the better of him. Garvey went on to win a unanimus desicion, after dropping his opponent in the second round with a straight right hand.
At 16 years old he's young to be a trainer, but the fact that he can, and does get in and sparr with all the squad, doing the things he's teaching them, makes his word hold alot of water, and the team is stronger with him on it. |
| Luke Watkins
Heavyweight Luke is one of our amatuer squad team members, and the big daddy of the bunch. He's been with us for a year now and like he says himself, has found a place where he belongs. It's important for us here at the academy that everyone feels comfortable and enjoys their training, and as a coach Luke has proven his worth and become a big hit with all our customers.

Millie Bailey
Mille has been a part of the gym for just under 2 years now. She is our resident head coach in charge of the youth squad which prepares kids coming through to advance to the amatuers. She also prepares her students for their grading badges, which we do in an Olympic format of bronze, silver and gold. This gives the guys specific goals in order to keep them focused and moving forward with their development. |
