A diffent kind of school

 

Learning to become a boxing coach with Fitzpatrick’s Boxing Gym is all about developing discipline and control. It is about being respectful to yourself and to each other. It is about learning that everything you do has an impact on yourself and on the people around you. It is NOT about learning to fight!

 

Do you want to:

Why not spend six months with us doing a boxing apprenticeship. Earn an NVQ in community sports leadership, not in a classroom but in our gym. Learning and improving on your boxing skills, gaining knowledge on the game, and walking away with a qualification at the end of it. School aint for everyone, but maybe our school is for you!!

 

Summary Of Courses


Level 2 Access Apprenticeship in Activity Leadership

Level 2 Btec First Diploma in Sport

Level 3 Btec Extended Diploma in Sport

 

Course 1:          L2 Access Apprenticeship in Activity leadership

Duration:           24 Weeks, 8 hours a week

Requirement:     None

Outcome:          Level 2 NVQ, Functional Skills English and Maths Level 1

  • Functional Skills Level 1 English (Writing, Reading & Speaking,  listening and Communication
  • Functional Skill Level 1 Mathematics
  • Level 2 Increasing Participation in Sport and active Leisure in Community Settings (4863-26)
  • Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Activity Leadership (4965-02)

Exit courses: Level 2 Btec

 

Course 2:           Level 2 Btec First Diploma in Sport

Duration:          1 year, 39 Weeks, 2 full days a week

Requirement:    Minimum of 4 GCSE’s F or above

Outcome:         BTEC  (60 Credits—4 GCSE’s)

  • Unit 1 Fitness Testing and Training
  • Unit 2 Practical Sport (10)
  • Unit 5 Injury in Sport (10)
  • Unit 4 Anatomy and Physiology for Sport (5)
  • Unit 12 Lifestyle and the Sports Performer
  • Unit 9 Psychology for Sports Performance
  • Unit 10 Nutrition for Sports Performance

Exit courses: Level 3 course

 

Course 3:           Level 3 Btec Extended Diploma in Sport 

 

Duration:          2 years, 39 Weeks, 4/5 full days a week

Requirement:    Minimum of 5 GCSE’s C or above
                       (English and Maths C grade or above)

Outcome:          Btec Level 3 Extended Diploma

                        (180 Credits—3 A Levels)
