We've neve...r had a bad nights entertainment yet in 2 1/2 years, and theres no reason why this one will be any different.

Jamie wins again - 13/02/2010
Jamie wins again, with lessons to be learnt
Jamie Cox brought his record to 14-0 (8) this saturday the 13th, on the night of champions show in Wembley arena.
He faced tough and experienced micheal franklin over 8 rounds, and was made to work throughout, recieving 6 stitches to a cut on his left eye from a clash of heads in round 7.
Franklin, although not sporting a great record, 2-6-1, was a former olympian from the 2000 sydney games, and a silver medalist at the commonwealth games, losing by 8 points to world amatuer champion Frankie Gavin.
Jamie, who had ben preparing to fight micheal jennings in dec 09, only for it to fall through, and then a possible shot at british champion Kell brook on this same show, only for the same thing to happen, went in with his mind on bigger things and allowed himself to go away from the game plan from the 2nd round.
Starting off good, keeping his cool, jamie set about establishing his jab and controlling the distance with his better footwork.
in round 2 though, jamie started to crank things up after hurting franklin downstairs with a right hook outside the shorter mans elbow.
sencing he could hurt his opponent, jamie went after him more from the 3rd round on loading up with power shots to the body and head. This allowed franklin to catch him with hard right uppercuts on the inside, as jamie didn't move his head off the line when he'd fininsh his attack.
And so it was for the next 4 rounds, with jamie showing the more explosive shots and greater strength, while franklin would catch him waiting on the outside, or lying with his head on the inside after and attack.
After jamies mouthpiece came out in the 6th, he made the big mistake of dropping his hands to piont to the referee where it went, only for Franklin to jump on him and get off 3 or 4 shots before the bell sounded the end of the round. Franklin was well within his rights and showed good instincts, while i don't think Jamie will be making the same mistake again.
The 7th round saw Jamie pick up a bad cut, just under his left eye brow directly above the eye.
with one round remaining and Jamie ahead, he was told to glue the left hand by his eye and move feint and use the jab to avoid the cut getting torn any more and chancing a stoppage, to which for the most part he did.
The referee had it 96-94 (4 rounds to 2 with 1 even. Theres still work to do in order for jamie to keep the fire in his belly and stay with the game plan, but knowing the type of fighter he is, he'll show the improvements required in his next fight. which should take place before may.
keep checking in for more updates, and soon we'll be running ''A day in the life of'' jamie cox. where you can see day by day training videos, dierct chat from jamie on his training and daily life leading to his next fight.
