Professional boxing coaches weekend camp - 03/06/2010
We're running a boxing coaches training weekend for any of you guys in the fitness industry (or otherwise) that want to learn how to coach boxing properly to your clients. There are quite a few companies doing this now, which is a good thing, as some of the coaching i see while traveling to fitness gyms across the country makes me wonder how more clients don't get injured by their coaches.
So far none of the boxing coaches courses running across the country are accredited, therefor you don't gain points for doing them. But a coach that is good at what they do, will find that coustomers will seek them out as opposed to the other way around. My gym is based in swindon, wiltshire, and I'm blessed that i have coustomers making trips weekly from london, bristol, reading, gloucester, chipenham, and birmingham to train here and to learn their coaching here also.
This august the 20th, we're running a training weekend at the boxing academy. Thoses taking part will arrive friday at 7pm and stay here, living in the gym (just like a real camp) untill sunday the 22nd at noon. You will live, train, eat, and sleep the exact same way as any of many the fighters that i have had in camps previously in preperation for their fights ( there will also be some of our senior amatuer squad with you, training for the weekend).
The weekend will consist of learning to wrap hands, catching the basic 1-2-hook on the mitts (correctly), being able to execute the same punches as your teaching (correctly). Basic defense (catching, slipping and rolling the shots that your teaching). learn the core exercises that we use to increases strength, and the various runs we use to prepare a fighter for endurance and explosiveness. learn how to plan the correct meals for the correct times, which is vital to get the best out of your boxer, as at world level the smallest things make the biggest differences. There will be an assesment on sunday and the fianl results will be mailed to you a week after your course is complete.
I previously taught these courses for outbox, and still have some of the guys that i trained on their courses working for me here. Now i want to bump it up a bit and not just have you guys here for 8 hours a day sat and sun, but for the whole weekend. You'll finish on the sunday with a complete understanding of what is required from you as a professsional boxing coach, and an increased desire to learn more in the future. The cost of the course is £330, which includes parking, food, accomadation, the training, your final assesment and certification. Anyone interested, but who still have some questions, please leave them with ''ask coach'' on our home page. anyone wanting to book now, please go to our payment page and secure your place. spaces are limited.

please be aware of our new pay scheme - 02/06/2010
Just to make you all aware of our new pay system. as you know after 2 1/2 years i've finally had to make some price increases. I've kept these to a minimum as much as i could, and made sure i didn't make increases across the board. The youth classes have increased from £4 a class to £5. youth must do a minimum of 2 days a week, max 3. It's not possible anymore to do less than this as we're preparing for grading and to come one day a week wouldn't be enough.
ADULTS CLASSES. 1 class is still only £9 (max 5 students per coach). 2 classes is now £16, and 3 classes in a week remains the same at £20.
GENERAL GYM USE, is still only £5 or £37 a month.
AMATUERS. £60 A MONTH (4 days a week coaching, and full anytime gym use)
You can pay on-line now too, so it will be easier for alot of you, but please remember, you must book and pay in advance (at least 24hrs) . Youth must pay a month inadvance, 1 month £48 (3 times a week) or £40 (twice a week). Thanks again for all of your continued support, i appreciate you all keeping the good vibration going. keep smilin, paddy
